Ain't No Sunshine

So I just had to share this cause I thought it was the most precious thing. I was at work this morning and one of the resident's phone went off at the desk. The ringtone was the song "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers. My ears naturally perked up cause I LOVE THAT SONG. He looked at me cause I caught him not silencing his phone. I just said to him, "Great Ringtone Dr!" Then he proceeded to tell me that it was his ringtone for his wife and he figured that if she was calling him then that meant that she was not with him and that is how he feels about her. There's no sunshine when she's gone. Precious. That's true love right there.

The Temple is a Place of Peace

"Temples are places of personal revelation. When I have been weighed down by a problem or a difficulty, I have gone to the House of the Lord with a prayer in my heart for answers. The answers have come in clear and unmistakable ways."

Best Birthday Yet

Thank you to everyone for making this the best birthday yet. I loved every minute of it and feel so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. My birthday was celebrated basically all weekend long. Let the good times roll! It was a fun yet exhausting weekend.

Here is the rundown of what happened:

Friday
Miranda Lambert Concert- Best concert I have been to. Even topped Boyz II Men. That is saying a lot my friends. A lot. I went with my roommates. Such sassy/funny girls. Always guaranteed uncontrollable laughter and randomness. I have had the funnest time living with them. We are all so different and unique but I love every moment and adventure that we go through in life individually and collectively. My favorite moments of the concert were: 1. When Miranda started her concert out with a song from one of my favorite female R&B singers: Beyonce. 2. When my roommate Erica twittered Jerrod Niemann (opening act) and got a response back that he loved us too. Side note: I always tease her about stuff like twitter and reality TV that she is into but I have to say, that was super awesome. 3. Miranda Lambert Rocks. She is one kick a** woman. I mean fire going off behind you while you are singing? Seriously an awesome performer. Love her more than before. Worth every penny. 4. Utah's finest rednecks come out. Seriously funny. Beer was flowing like water.

Saturday
Rex Lee Run- Ran in honor of my best friends mom, Sharon Maguet. Such a tender moment. Really neat to see how many people came out to support and also do it with some of our closest friends.

Dinner- My best bud, Kaitlyn, took me out for dinner. We had a little bff date night. I feel like we were meant to be friends from the beginning. We LOVE sports bars so we went to Iggy's. We just sat and talked forever. And I got my favorite drink called a Lava Flow. It's a pina colada with strawberries. Delicious.

Sunday-
Church- People kept teasing me about my birthday in Sunday school and I started confusing people telling them that it really wasn't. The cutest girl in our ward, Cesilie, said the closing prayer and blessed me on my birthday. It was so cute. Everyone started laughing cause they thought it was not my birthday. But surprise it was.

Dinner- Had some of my friends (Kaitlyn, Erica, Brittany, Kellie B, Helen, Tuni, Chant'al, Ryan, Andrew, Alex, Tyler, Clark, Bobby, JD, & Matt)  over for Dinner and had my favorite meal. Steak Fajitas and brownies/oreo ice cream. Scrum-diddly-umptious. I've never laughed so hard. My friends are hilarious. You could seriously come over, not say a word, and be thoroughly entertained. We might have had a mini glass explosion  but everyone was okay. I mean we had 5 nurses in the house. Love my friends to death.

B-day Cake- Had friends over for birthday cake. So fun to see all my EFY buddies again and other friends. I am so blessed to be around so many great people who impact my life in more ways than they know. My amazing friend, Angela, bought us tickets to go see Kina Grannis in concert. So excited!!!

Skype with the family- Could not imagine life without those crazy Prusse family members. Best family there is.

Such an amazing weekend. Could not have asked for a better birthday. And guess what? Chris Young is coming back to SLC in June. Let the fun times roll on!!!

The Power of Chocolate

A recent study suggests that there is no problem, worry, bad day, annoyance, aggravation, melt down, car accident, disappointment, lack of sleep, or stressful situation that Cadbury Easter Candy Coated Mini Eggs cannot cure. I was randomly selected to be a part of that study.

You've had a birthday...

Happy Birthday to my niece Brielle!!! You're the cutest even when you're covered in cake.

I heard this from my sister-in-law and I thought it was hilarious.

Braxton:  What is Brielle doing?
Kristin (Mom):  Throwing a tantrum...where do you think she learned that?
Braxton: Satan

While sitting in front of the oven waiting for cookies to bake...
Braxton:  Look Ashlyn, if you look right in here (pointing at the glass and his reflection) you can see my spirit.  This is my body (touching his arms and face) but that is my spirit.  Look, you can see your spirit too.
Ashlyn:  Okay, my spirit has pretty hair like me.

My nieces and nephews are so funny!!! At least their parents can say that they tried. ;0)

Good Girl

I am obsessed with Carrie Underwood. If I could come back as another person, it would be her! Here is her new single out called "Good Girl." It's sooooooooooooooooooooooo good! Rockin!!!

I LOVE THEM....

Strum Away

So I decided to fulfill one of my life long goals and learn to play the guitar. Best decision ever!!! For those of you who know me, music is basically the way I express myself. You can always tell what I am thinking by the music I am listening to. I also sing everywhere I go. The car, the shower, my room, to class, elevator, etc. I have to remind myself that people don't like to hear that. My family used to get so mad sometimes cause I would not stop singing. Thanks for putting up with my vocal sessions Prusse Family. My nieces are obsessed with Taylor Swift so we sing her songs a ton when the family is all together. They are my excuse for loving those cheezy songs. My brothers say that I have created little singing/dancing queens. I can't help it! It's hard to think that I used to be super shy around people and would run off a stage crying after a performance cause I was so scared of being in front of people. I obviously got over that! Well, somewhat. I still find myself very shy at moments. Music is also therapeutic for me. Whenever I am happy, frustrated, giddy, or sad there is always a song that just lets you escape and express how you feel. Today I learned a cover of Britney Spears Oops...I did it again. I know. Most of you probably just threw up in your mouth. But I have to say this cover is pretty rockin. I can't play as good as she does but it's a fun one. Gotta love Kina Grannis for the cover. My good friend, Angela Rowberry and I plan on going to her concert this summer. She is so talented. Music=happiness. Choose to be happy. Choose music.
